The Cleric Across the Tabletop
I played a Cleric back in the day and it was awesome. I remember being able to beat my foes down with a morning star while healing and resurrecting my allies. He was the one guy that never died in the campaign, not even once. Clerics are a strange beast because no one thinks they want to play one but they love having them in the party and when someone actually does play a Cleric they have a great time.
The Bard Across the Tabletop
I won’t lie to you, almost no one wanted to play the Bard. A dude that plays a ukulele just isn’t a sexy as a Wizard that can summon a meteor to blow up the planet or a Cleric that can raise an army back from the dead. All you’ve got are your little tunes. I think this is just because of the way the Bard has been presented. Why isn’t he a rock and roll idol that uses his guitar to smite his foes with lightning? You could totally make the Bard that guy…At least in 4th Edition.
