You know who they are. They’re the biggest, the baddest, the most BAMFin’ characters ever to grace the Star Wars films, and I’m here to tell you all about ‘em, starting with: Darth Maul Again following the big bad villain mantra of less is more, this smooth operator only speaks a smattering of sentences, but [...]

Consider thyself warned of the impending terrors to be had The following is a list of terror so overwhelming that should you ever be fooled into thinking that you have read it and still not been whelmed, you would be sadly mistaken. Kid’s movies are often sugar-coated hour and a half toy commercials. They are [...]

Troll 2 is known as the “best worst movie” for many reasons. We unabashedly love this movie. Unlike Ed Wood’s masterpieces of terrible filmmaking, Troll 2 has no slow parts. It’s interesting and mind bogglingly weird from beginning to end. After the Action Flick Chick reviewed it (“Troll 2 (1990): Reasons Not to Eat Green [...]

In the 1980′s, Rankin/Bass stumbled onto cartoon gold when they created… Thundercats! Yes, Thundercats, A cartoon about a team of animal-themed people fighting badguys in an other-worldly, sci-fi setting! Also a popular comic book and toy line, Thundercats was a major force in the 1980′s little kid demographic. And it’s no wonder, I mean, friggin’ [...]

While our friend Action Flick Chick Katrina Hill celebrates Guy Fawkes Day with a review of V for Vendetta, we at Rocket Llama Headquarters wish to remind one and all that today marks the 54th anniversary of the invention of time travel. “Here’s a red letter date in the history of science, November 5th 1955…That [...]

This is just a compilation of house rules I found on a thread called “What are your house rules?” where people listed short and sweet summaries of what kind of stuff they do in their D&D campaigns. Here, I’m going to break down why I think some are pretty nifty, to pretty mediocre, to pretty stupid.

I peruse the D&D forums a fair amount. There’s a lot on mix-max theories, home-brewed rules, and arguments why something new introduced in a supplemental book or magazine is lame or breaks the game. It’s a lot of people obsessing over theoretical nonsense instead of what makes the game actually fun or interesting. Forum Fridays brings you the gems that I manage to find in the desolate wasteland that is the official D&D forums.

Dave Chalker (calls himself “The Game” on this website) has taken it upon himself to translate d20 Modern into 4th Edition D&D’s set of rules, using the minimization of options as his guideline for gameplay. See what he’s been up to in this review!

A lot of people complained that the Fight Weapon Talents included in the original Player’s Handbook were far inferior to Martial Power’s Tempest Technique. This Dragon Magazine article aims to redeem such a mistake.

Beautiful and obvious. This class is conceptually what the 3rd Edition Ranger was. An archer that wields the power of nature on his side, shooting arrows and wielding magic. I loved the classic Ranger. One of my favorite characters ever was part of a Ranger-Paladin duo. I’m glad to see it return in spirit with a name that I dig a lot

I wasn’t doing these D&D Insider articles a few months back, so it’s taken me a bit to go back and mentally digest the plethora of material that was already available.

This was far more robust than the entry they had on Bahamut awhile back. The stuff detailed in here are the most relevant towards the Shadar-Kai and Revenant races. After giving the Revenants a gander in the Compendium, I’ve come to realize they’ve grown into quite a hefty race.
