Blog-It Llama! Sci-Fi Future Is Always Bleak

Nick | October 27, 2008

Every time I die in this game I am utterly shocked by it. Deaths always seem to occur when I’m at 1/4 health and thinking “Okay, I can take one more hit before I need to heal” and then five different necromorphs leap out behind crates and creep through the air-vents to try and murder me with a great deal of success. The deaths are the most visceral I have ever seen to happen to the protagonist of a video-game. The variety of way in which you are torn in half, decapitated, or pulled into oblivion rivals that of Dragon’s Lair.

Blog-It Llama! Pointless Paranoia

Nick | October 22, 2008

Some weird stuff is going on with Iron Man 2′s casting. Terrance Howard is being replaced by Don Cheadle and apparently he had no idea. Called it a “shock of a lifetime”. So this wasn’t about him wanting more money or anything like that. This makes me pretty sad for the guy considering the fact that he was super pumped about the movie at Comic-Con 2007. Marvel is full of some jerks.

Comic-Con 2008: Closing Thoughts

Alex Langley | August 9, 2008

As I reflect back on everything I saw and smelled at Comic-Con, I am forced to draw the undeniable conclusion that many would find shocking.

Comic-Con isn’t just about comics. A pretty good chunk of it is about other crap.

Hands on with Force Unleashed

Papa Llama | July 29, 2008

Incoming from Comic-Con: “Force Unleashed” as everyone has called it, was a fantastic. The demo was very different from my time with Dead Space. Instead of the one-on-one experience of you and the booth-worker inside a secluded area from the convention, it was you and the booth-worker and a large crowd of people in middle of the exhibition hall. When I would brutally kill a Stormtrooper, people would cheer. It was exhilarating.

Hands on with Dead Space

Papa Llama | July 28, 2008

Incoming from Comic-Con: I got some hands-on time with Dead Space for the 360. It was interesting because the booth was set up in a way that your turn with the demo only ended when you died. For most people it was five minutes. I managed to last fifteen. This wasn’t my first time to delve in the pits of Resident Evil 4/Bioshock hell. This was my kind of game for so many reasons.
