Awhile back at wizard world, I got a chance to ask actor Danny Trejo a few questions and seeing that the film “Machete” is in the works, it just felt like the right time to unleash this interview on the rest of world. Danny Trejo is Undoubtedly one of the hardest working actors in the industry, starting his career first in 1985 with “Runaway Train” to one hundred and seventy-three acting credits to this day. He has also co-produced three films and been the producer of four, including a movie titled “Vengeance”. I mean seriously, how many actors can say that they have come even close to doing as much work as this guy? This dude is a beast!

Marko: Out of all the films you have worked on, what would you say was your favorite?

Trejo: I think “Heat”. Mostly because of the cast and director. You got Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, Al Pacino, and John Voight.

Marko: Awesome, so you’re here working on something new, what is it you’re working on now?

Trejo: I just did a film called “Vengeance”, that I produced; we got quite a cast in that. We got Donal Logue, Jason Mewes, Diamond Dallas Page, Tech Nine, Baby Bash you know that suga, suga, how you get so fly? Then we have Noel G, Robert Burke who’s an awesome, awesome actor. The name of the movie is “Vengeance”.

Marko: That’s great man. Also I was wondering about the “Machete” trailer that you did for Rodriguez, If that gets made into a movie, seeing that you played Uncle Machete in the “Spy Kids” movies, do you think that the “Spy Kids” will have a cameo in the movie?

Trejo: I don’t know but they are supposed to make that movie. Robert Rodriguez promised so I want all your fans and my fans too, to email Robert Rodriguez and say hey you promised us “Machete” and hold up to your promise.

Marko: All right we’ll do that; I’ll hold a petition.

Trejo: Awesome.

Marko: All right I just have one question for you. How did you break into the business?

Trejo: I want to say that everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else. I got into the business by helping a kid who wanted to stay off of drugs. I was hanging out with him and it just happened to be that he was a kid on a movie called “Runaway Train” with John Voight and Eric Roberts. I just went to support him trying to stay off drugs. I ended up running into a friend of mine Eddy Bunker, who I knew in the penitentiary who was a writer that did the screenplay to “Runaway Train”. He offered me a job teaching Eric Roberts how to box and the director saw me and decided to put me in the movie.

Marko: So what’s the next big challenge for you?

Trejo: I think I’m going to try and produce “Vengeance 2”; it’s kind of like Charles Bronson’s “Death wish”.

Marko: Well I can’t wait to see it! Thanks a lot! Awesome meeting you!

Trejo: Don’t forget to get on your friends about “Machete”

Marko: We definitely will!

Well it looks like he didn’t need the help, since “Machete” is now in post-production. But even so, he was a Badass individual and I can’t wait to see “Machete”! I know fans of Rodriguez and Trejo think the same. Also, Everybody should check out the movie “Vengeance” @ http://www.Vengencearmy.com
