Blog-It Llama! Pointless Paranoia

Some weird stuff is going on with Iron Man 2′s casting. Terrance Howard is being replaced by Don Cheadle and apparently he had no idea. Called it a “shock of a lifetime”. So this wasn’t about him wanting more money or anything like that. This makes me pretty sad for the guy considering the fact that he was super pumped about the movie at Comic-Con 2007. Marvel is full of some jerks.

Tapha Niang. It is a song that has caused Little Big Planet to have a huge recall and delay. It contains a couple of phrases from the Qur’an, which has apparently angered some muslims. The text found in the song is pretty grim, phrases like “All that i on earth will perish”. I listened to the song though and the lyrics are not a reflection upon the tone of the song. It is a lengthy (about six and a half minutes) tune that starts off relaxing and builds up into something fun and catchy. People need to calm the hell down and let themselves become an iota more cultured. I’m disappointed that it won’t be in the game.

Patch 3.0.2 has hit in World of Warcraft. This is the patch that integrates a surprising amount of content that was going to be a part of the expansion. It seems that all classes damage output has gone up by about 70%. The damage output of tank-type classes has flown through the roof, nearly tripling the amount of damage they were dealing before the patch. This and the fact that they have nerfed all of the Burning Crusade raid bosses means that players are getting a chance to reach content they might never have had the chance to see otherwise.

I got Dead Space yesterday. I played for 2 hours straight and I’m really excited to get back to it later today. It has a slower pacing than Resident Evil 4 but it is far more intense. You go through sections that are full of a lot of individual scares that build up towards these battles where the lights flicker and fade and wave after wave of undead abominations assault you. I haven’t gone far enough to experience a boss battle yet, so verdict is out on whether they will compare to Resident Evil 4 or not. This game is like the child of many other games, full of frightening creatures more terrifying than anything out of Silent Hill, controls like Resident Evil 4, tells a story like Bioshock, and has a setting like System Shock. Blend it together with dark matter and you’ve got Dead Space.

We’re heading towards the end of our first story arc here at Rocket Llama and I feel like it is going to be a momentous occasion. Besides the fact that it is our first story arc we are also retiring the style of art used for the digitally remastered version of the comic. Soon we’ll put up the original comic from back in the 20s (or is it 30s? Alex would know better than me) and start on our Halloween-themed “Symphony of the Llama”. What’s funny is that You’ll be getting it in November, not October.

Here is a little preview of the new style.
